K’niin

K’niin Abbrey a multidisciplinary performance artist specializing in street dance forms, digital arts and musical production. His expertise lies in emphasizing musical aural skills and applying meditative approaches to enhance creativity and self-awareness. Between his nomadic upbringing and Creole cultural background, Abbrey has developed a rich understanding of “blending.” He uses this unique perspective to inform conversation or flow between seemingly contrasting elements; leveraging his deep knowledge of street dance forms, he seamlessly weaves together a colorful blend of explorations that tap into all the senses.

Abbrey’s passion extends worldwide as he travels extensively, both to compete and teach his approaches within Street Dance communities and theater spaces alike. Within the Hip Hop competitive circuit, Abbrey has been recognized globally as a representative of the U.S.——taking part in renowned international competitions such as Summer Dance Forever 2022, Freestyle Sessions 2021, KOD 2018, Jack of All Trades (JOAT) 2024, to name a few.

Back home in the States, K’niin builds as a collaborator with many renowned companies and artists. Additionally he has lent his performance abilities to acclaimed productions such as the Emmy Award Winning “Hip Hop Nutcracker,” Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre, Rennie Harris Pure Movement, The Groovaloos, among others. His mission is to bring powerful, thought-provoking art and perspective to both dance theatre and street dance worlds, and to possibly blend those two mediums.
