10K Movement Classes

At 10K Movement, our classes are more than dance lessons. They are community experiences are rooted in the traditions of Hip Hop, Club, and Street Dance culture. We welcome dancers of all backgrounds and levels into a safe, inspiring space to explore styles such as Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, House, Litefeet, Breaking, Waacking, Krump, and other club and street dance forms.

Our teaching philosophy is non-intimidating and community-centered: we meet students where they are, encourage curiosity and self-expression, and help every dancer build confidence in their movement and voice.

Why Train with 10K Movement?

At 10K Movement, we are committed to creating more than just dance classes. We build safe and supportive spaces where everyone can thrive. Our environment is welcoming and non-intimidating, designed so that dancers of all ages, levels, and backgrounds feel empowered to show up as their authentic selves.

We proudly celebrate and respect all identities, and we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive community across race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and ability. These values are not just statements, but practices we actively uphold through our teaching methods, community agreements, and ongoing safe space trainings.

What makes our classes unique:

  • A culture of respect, openness, and joy where everyone belongs

  • Training in a wide range of Hip Hop, Street, and Club dance styles, taught in ways that honor the history and culture behind them

  • Instructors who are both culture-rooted artists and experienced educators committed to meeting each dancer where they are

  • A focus on creativity, connection, and growth so dancers not only learn movement, but also build confidence, community, and voice

Our goal is to make sure every dancer who steps into our space feels valued, supported, and challenged to grow — both on and off the dance floor.

Community Classes

Our Community Classes are the heartbeat of 10K Movement. Open to all levels, these weekly sessions explore foundations across multiple street and club dance styles, from the grooves and social dances of Hip Hop, to the musicality of House, the precision of Popping, and the raw power of Krump. Each class balances technique, creativity, and history so dancers understand not just how to move, but why these styles matter.

After class, we open the floor for a community freestyle session (7:30 – 8:30 PM). This is a space for dancers to train, exchange, and vibe together in a cypher-style setting where connections are built and creativity flourishes.

  • When & Where: Thursdays at Pivot Arts Center, 6:30 – 7:30 PM (class), 7:30 – 8:30 PM (open session)

  • Cost: $20 (covers both class and open session)

Kids Classes

Our Kids’ Classes are designed for ages 10 – 18 years old. Students explore different styles and learn how to freestyle, while also building skills in teamwork, leadership, and self-expression.

Classes are accessible, high-energy, and engaging so that young dancers feel supported and inspired, whether they are brand new to dance or looking to sharpen their foundation.

Special Guest Workshops

Throughout the year, 10K Movement hosts Special Guest Workshops featuring national and international artists across the global street and club dance community. These workshops bring dancers face-to-face with innovators and culture bearers, offering a rare opportunity to learn directly from the leaders shaping the art form.

Workshops vary in focus, from deep dives into specific styles such as House, Krump, Waacking, and Popping, to concept-driven explorations of freestyle, choreography, or battle preparation. Each workshop connects students not only to new movement vocabulary, but also to the broader cultural lineage of the dance.

  • When: Offered periodically throughout the year

  • Who it’s for: Open to all dancers eager to expand their horizons
